How To Avoid Visa Lottery Scams

Time to check on your visa lottery status also known as the Diversity Immigrant Visa. Of course you must do this online at a secure site provided by the Department of State.
If you have received solicitations regarding your Diversity Visa status, advising you to pay someone to file your application, or check your status, you are most likely the victim of a visa lottery scammer. The Department of State has therefore issued a warning or scam alert concerning fraudulent emails and letters. Please read the full posting on the Department of State website and avoid the scammers by ignoring emails and letters asking for money. The Federal Trade Commission has also posted a warning with details on avoiding the rip-offs.
